Church of the Nazarene - South Asia Field

What We Do

Our Ministry Portfolio

Elements of the Church Planting Movement

South Asia is maybe one of the fastest growing areas in the international Church of the Nazarene. It is also an area of great ethnic diversity, demographic and social challenges. With less than 1 percent of the population claiming to be Christian, South Asia is also one of the most fertile fields for planting churches.

Today, after more than 25 years of ministry, there are more than 5,000 churches and “church type missions” that have been planted in Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan. The church planting movement continues expanding to areas where the Church of the Nazarene still does not have a presence with its holiness message.

More than ever, spreading Jesus Christ’s message of love, healing and reconciliation is critical to bring peace to people and societies fractured by false beliefs and radicalism, poverty, hopelessness, disease, oppression, hatred and violence.

Local churches employ different ministries to love the people of South Asia with the love of Jesus.

We introduce people to the person of Jesus. Becoming a witness and a reflection of God's love for mankind is a key part of our ministry.

"Discipleship” is learning to live like true followers of Jesus. We teach discipleship through Sunday School and Nazarene Youth International.

Compassionate Ministries

Ministry to the whole person, showing the love and care of Jesus in action.

One of our main focuses is to prepare and train people to fulfill their call in ministry, whether they are lay people, local pastors, or missionaries.
